Let Them Be Wild

I want your kids to be wild.

Not “out of control” in a way that feels stressful or chaotic… but wild in the way childhood is meant to be. The kind of wild that looks like twirling until they fall over, dirt on their hands, wind in their hair, laughter that comes from deep in their belly.

Because that’s where the magic lives.

When I say my sessions are child-led, I don’t mean I show up with a rigid plan and hope your child cooperates. I mean I let go of the plan entirely. I follow them. Their energy. Their curiosity. Their rhythm.

If they want to run, we run.
If they want to sit quietly and pick at grass, we sit.
If they want to cling to you, we honor that too.

There’s no pressure to perform, no asking them to stand still, look at the camera, and give me a perfect smile.

I struggled for years to get my own kids to take photos in that way, I left those sessions feeling defeated. I am a photographer why is it that my own family is so hard to photograph. Then one day I realized that that is not our truth. We don’t all gather and smile/pose. and honestly those perfectly posed moments they’re not the ones I want to relive years from now.

My work is about capturing who your child truly is. Not a version of them that behaves for the camera, but the version that exists in their everyday world. The way they connect with you. The way they explore. The way they love.

And sometimes that looks messy. It can be unpredictable. I just laugh when parents apologize over and over for the chaos. You cannot compete with the chaos of my home I promise you! These sessions are meant to capture how your life truly feels and maybe that is really chaotic or loud or overwhelming. But in the best way, right?

When it comes to these sessions I want you to prepare your kiddos (and yourself) so that they can have fun and be themselves. I want you to truly cherish the moments we capture someday because the wildness softens, the chaos quiets, and they become more independent.

So let them run.
Let them play.
Let them be wild.

I’ll meet them where they’re at and I promise that’s where the magic is.
